What to Look for in a Lakefront Wedding Venue in Buffalo and WNY
For a lot of people, they want their wedding to be as private as possible, and that means building out the venue to represent that, especially if it’s a lakefront wedding venue, one of the most beautiful types of wedding venues we work with. It’s a type of venue that so many dream of being their own, and it’s our job to make sure that we build it out to what people are looking for in their vision.
The Scenery and Other Spatial Features
We know how important it is for the bride and groom to prioritize the scenery of a lakefront venue, but we also believe it’s best to look beyond that and make sure the rest of the venue is able to support that great view.
You even have to take into consideration what time of the day you would like the wedding to take place, to fully capture the backdrop of the lakefront view. Any professional photographers you hire to capture the event can work with us to help establish what’s best from that point of view. We want to make sure that you’re included in that process as much as possible.
Couples are most likely going to look for a more open spacing arrangement and put focus on the features in the venue's design that allow for that to take place during the ceremony. The venue should accommodate those choices rather than restrict them to what can’t be done. We want to give the couple every option on the table and let them decide from there which is best.
There are going to be questions that couples ask, all of which will relate to whether the venue is the right one for them. Are the lakefront views going to be visible from all areas of the venue, including the main reception? Is the guest experience elevated to keep people happy and entertained?
When it comes to scenery and other features, adhering to the guest experience is very important. Factor in where and how they arrive, or where they primarily stay during the ceremony. Getting the right answers to these questions will help the planning process go much more smoothly.
The Reception Venue
Once that is established, you will have to take a look at how the reception venue is set up, as it accommodates several huge features of the ceremony. Everything from its overall design, control of the climate factors, the dance floor, the seating, and anything that can be flexible enough to adjust to the number of guests who show up for the post-ceremony party.
That lakefront view will be very important for the ceremony, but we also want to make sure the venue is just right for the reception, for everyone to celebrate. Normally, it will all take place in the same location, so we have to be able to adjust on the fly to get things organized in time for that party.
If the reception venue has a dining area and cocktail hour, guests are more than welcome to space themselves out for that. We tend to see the same number of guests join for the reception as they did for the ceremony, and so we always make sure to prepare for that possibility.
